How iKnowMyMac updates DeepChat
iKnowMyMac reads the developer's GitHub releases for DeepChat, then checks every download before it replaces the copy on your Mac.
- Source
- GitHub
- Bundle ID
- com.wefonk.deepchat
- Repository
- ThinkInAIXYZ/deepchat
- Release file it picks
- DeepChat-*-mac-arm64.dmg
How it finds the update
- Reads the latest release in the developer's GitHub repository.
- Picks exactly one Mac build for Apple silicon or universal. If more than one file could be the right one, it does nothing rather than guess.
- Checks the release's published digest when GitHub has one.
Checked before every install
- The code signature is valid and Gatekeeper accepts it, notarized if your copy was.
- It's signed by the same developer (team ID) as the copy you have. A change of developer asks you first.
- It's never signed worse than your copy, and never an older version.
- Your current copy is kept as a backup first, so Undo Last Update puts it back in one step.
- An app that's open is never quit for you: it updates when you quit it.
The catalog is one source among several. If DeepChat carries its own update feed, or you installed it with Homebrew, iKnowMyMac reads that first, and a source you set by hand in the app always wins.
