Refund policy

There's no free trial, so the refund is the trial: if iKnowMyMac isn't for you, you get your money back within 14 days.

14 days, no questions

Within 14 days of your purchase, you can have a full refund of what you paid, for any license (1 Mac or a bundle for several Macs). You don't need to give a reason. If you'd like to tell us what didn't work, we read every note, but it's never a condition.

How to ask

  1. Write to support@iknowmymac.com from the email address you used to buy, or include that address in your message.
  2. Add your order number if you have it handy. It's in your receipt from Dodo Payments.
  3. We ask Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, to refund you. The money goes back to the way you paid; how long it takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer.

We'll reply to confirm once the refund has been issued.

What happens to your license

A refund deactivates the license key. The next time iKnowMyMac checks the license (when it opens, and at least every 7 days) it switches to read-only mode: monitoring keeps working, and actions and alerts are paused.

After 14 days

After 14 days, purchases are generally final. If something has gone wrong, for example the app doesn't work on your Mac and we can't fix it, write to us anyway and we'll look at it fairly. Nothing here limits refund rights you have under the law where you live.

Post-for-refund program

If you write a public post about iKnowMyMac, you may be able to get part of your money back. In short: the post has to go live, and meet the program's conditions, within 21 days of your purchase, and each claim is reviewed by a person before any refund is made.

The amounts, conditions and claim form are on the post-for-refund page, and those rules apply to every claim. Some payment methods don't allow partial refunds; if yours doesn't, we'll offer the reward in another form, such as an extra Mac on your license.

Chargebacks

If something is wrong with a charge, please write to us first: a refund is quicker for you than a dispute with your bank. A chargeback deactivates the license key in the same way a refund does, and the app becomes read-only at its next license check. If a chargeback was a mistake, write to us and we'll help you get going again.
